The annual meeting of the Somerset Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. was held on June 11, 2026 at the Somerset High School.
For those not able to attend, it was a very informative event and always a pleasure to meet the GM and the Board.
Ruston Ogburn, General Manager, discussed the challenges of providing the increasing demand for electricity and how they meet that "supply vs. demand" to their customers.
The SRE was created in 1939 and energized in 1940. The SRE is a member-owned rural electric coop serving members in four PA counties - Bedford, Fayette, Somerset and Westmoreland and one county in Maryland - Garrett.

HAPPY 250th BIRTHDAY AMERICA
In July 2026, the United States will mark its Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, with the largest national celebration since the United States Bicentennial in 1976. That year, Americans gathered in Philadelphia, sailed tall ships into New York Harbor and lit fireworks coast to coast.

THE POOL IS OFFICIALLY OPEN
FOR THE 2026 SEASON

OK - Maybe that's not a "real sign"
but we want to remind everyone it's important to keep in mind for the health and safety of our homeowners and guests.

REMINDER - NO FIREWORKS ON MV PROPERTY.
LET THE RESORT PROVIDE THE FIREWORKS
FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT.
